One Hell of An Act

one hell of an actTo paraphrase the old saying, fools rush in where sensible types like you and I fear to tread. Actually, fear might be too strong of a word, so let’s go with “be really careful” instead—like the guy in this story should have been, when he heard about a hypnotist act that sounded way too over-the-top to be true. What could possibly go wrong? I think you can guess the answer… (Note: the end of this story might seem a tad cruel to some readers, but hey, nobody ever said endings have to be happy.) I’ve visited this general topic before, so if this tale tickles your fancy you might want to check out last year’s “The Sleep Cure for A Male Mind“, which is somewhat similar. Enjoy!

  2. Hi Amanda,

GREAT STORY! Like many of us, I have dreamed of my perfect wedding day. The church, the bridesmaids, the groom and of course me as the bride. Started as a very young youngster, 4 or 5 years old after attending my aunt’s wedding. Watching her walk down the isle in her beautiful gown to “Here comes the Bride” being played on the organ. I still pray I could be that bride someday, or in the next life I hope.

The dress has changed many times over the years, fashion is a ever changing art. Of course in this life I still need the help of one or two of the following: magic, aliens, a television show to be on, a very skilled hypnotist or a girlfriend / fiancee who would “trick me” somehow so I could understand all the things she has to do to make the big day special!

In my perfect bride world that would include replacing one thing while gaining two others, to help make for a perfect bridle suite night and rest of my life.

Anyway this little story got me thinking of some of my other favorites you have written. All of them great, all of them strike me right in my feminine heart!

The Wedding July / August of 2012
The Deluxe Bridle Package – June of 2015
Think of England – May / June 2018
The Witching Hour – December 2018
The Wedding Prank of October / December -2018

I am very grateful that you have kept your site going for all these years with quality story lines. You are a blessing to many of us.

    • Thank you, Paula. I really appreciate hearing that. It’s amazing to me that people are still reading stories I wrote and posted that long ago, and (in some cases) have even half-forgotten myself. It’s fun to go back and check them out again, which I have just done. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! 🙂
