Man’s World

Man's WorldI enjoyed doing the last poster so much I decided to make another. I know it’s tempting to view this quote in the context of the here and now, where I don’t think anyone should settle for living solely in a man’s world—and in any case society isn’t quite as male-centric as it used to be. But let’s remember that Marilyn lived in a Mad Men kind of world and she did the best she could at the time. I interpret this caption to mean that those of us who feel feminine inside should embrace the woman within and not be afraid of doing so in the context of our larger male lives. Maybe that’s stretching the original meaning way way beyond what Marilyn intended, but so be it. If she objects, I’ll take it down. (I’m serious; if she shows up and tells me off, I’ll take this caption down so fast it’ll make the whole damn planet spin faster.)
