New York at Night

New York at NightI recently received this item from a friend of a friend. It was a high-res scan of what appears to be the page of a glossy magazine, which I reduced in size (to remove the graininess) and placed in a PDF file. The only problem is, it shouldn’t exist.

As far as I can tell there is no such magazine as New York at Night. Also, I have never had the pleasure of meeting the lovely and charming Duchess of Cambridge. So it does appear that the article must originate from some sort of alternate timeline, which lends a certain amount of credibility to the report of the aforementioned friend-of-a-friend that the item fell out of what she (being a long-time Star Trek fan) described as a “big swirly hyperspace vortex thingy”. (I don’t know if the whole magazine came through or just a single page, but all I received was what you see here.)

It’s hard to know what to make of something like this. All I can say is that if this is the sort of thing some alternate version of me is doing with her life, then I am seriously jealous. But what the hey, at least one of us is living the dream. Maybe that’s all that matters.
